A positive approach in diet and self care encourages gradual consistent changes in meals and exercise, not the emphasis on the negative tracking of calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins or on time spent in the gym that can so often discourage and eventually fail. A holistic approach including whole food eating and reduction in processed food is encouraged. Ways of reducing stress will also be a part of the counseling sessions. As my clients explore and reflect on improvements they begin doing, they find these changes collectively create an effective and larger impact than they originally may have thought. I help my clients to realize they can improve their lifestyle within the circumstances of their individual situations.
